Logon My Dogs

Placeholder Image

Sheep ranching and sheep trialing require the partnership efforts of handler and dog. Let me introduce you to my team--retired, current, and up-and-comers! Without these dogs, our lives, both on-the-ranch and on-the-road, would not be nearly as rich and wonderful!

A Few of My Dogs

SWEEP

Sweep is …bred by Wilda Bahr of Pine Valley, Ca. (Tommy Wilson’s “Roy” grandson on the Dam side; and Terry Parrish’s “Rhys” grandson on the Sire side.) The best way to describe this phenomenal dog is “BRAVE HEART”. Sweep has been such a biddable dog to train, with more heart than most. When the going gets tough he keeps trying and will never give up. He has so much natural ability it amazes me, and on top of that a natural face bite that is second to none. When new lambs arrive home and we unload; “Sweep” is the dog to show the way. He moves sheep with ease using a medium to loose eye. Sweep started trialing in December of 2002. Sweep has been consistent with high scores throughout the trialing career. Sweep finished the year, 11th in the 2008 National Finals Open Championship.2009 Sweep finished his trialing year and career 3rd. in the first go round at the National Finals in Klamath Falls..He had an unforgettable run and a good way to retire his trialing career. I am certain Sweep will be one of the best dog’s I will have ever owned. I am truly blessed to have been able to train and run a dog of this magnitude. Aside from work Sweep is my best friend. Sweep will be run periodically but for the most part he has been retired to the "ranch work"!! Sweep is now 9 years old!

K9znewe "SOOT"

July, 2010 - Soot finishes the season with 46.2 Open Points ranking 49 in the standings!!!

Soot was born April 2006 and has been a fantastic all around dog. She is off of my Sweep and Jesse. She is a great combination of both parents. Soot was a born genius with a pleasing attitude. She was an extremely serious pup ready to go early. She has a no quit attitude and tons of heart. She moves sheep with a nice medium eye, very free moving and fast. She has a gorgeous style and sheep like her. She has come out trialing this year in Open doing great. Soot has been an absolute joy to train and a dream to trial. She has plenty of power and her listening skills are unlike many others. Soot is well on her way to being a fantastic dog. I LOVE SOOT!!

JESSE

Jesse (aka Princess Jessica) has been a good trial dog. Mama to Soot and Gunner and/ 2nd. litter Suede and Lace. She has trialed at the most prestigious trials in the West. She moves sheep with ease, has plenty of eye. She has a sensitive nature and wants to please. She was a born natural worker with lots of heart. Her breeding goes to Alasdair Macrae's Ben and Ken Willards Frecks. She produced beautifully when crossed to Sweep and has had 2 litters. She likes doing ranch work and helping out at class. On the road trialing she sleeps in the bed and wouldn't have it any other way. She is a joy to have around and keeps the pack "in-Line". A natural outrunner, and a good line driver. I look forward to continuing to trial her, and will plan on one last litter (same cross) this spring. Jesse has produced some great pups. I am starting her "second batch" now and they are wonderful!! We look forward to our last litter in 2010.

SLY

July, 2010: Sly finishes the 2010 trial season with 35.8 Points...Good Job for a first year Open dog!!

Sly- (aka "bug") born December 31, 2006 will be running Open this year. She is off of my old Zippo lines which was my original breeding 12 years ago. Sly has a great feel for sheep, is a good listener and wonderful to live with. She is a happy girl, exceptionally cute and there is no task too difficult. Whatever there is to be learned whether difficult or easy she is ready and willing. I am really excited to get her going on the Open trial circuit this year; and we will plan a litter in the future; she will be bred to Sweep.

Zippo

The true ranch dogs extraordinaire. Zippo was my original breeding from the first bitch I bought. Zippo was a great trial dog running at the most prestigious trials in the west. Zippo's first love though is ranching and he knows more about sheep than most. Zippo is 13 now.
